Epicycle 1
Week 1
Monday February 17th, 2014
Our official 4 term has started. Loaded with work, waiting to be tackled. First thing in the morning we separated the books which each of us chose to read and followed by an schedule that will help us digest in fewer pages the readings and set a time and date for the dialogues. I chose, The Now Habit, Economics in 1 Lesson, We the Living. Plus the independent threads we all share.
Afterwards we started to read the law with our class and Bert. We came out to pretty nice ideas, and understandings about the power of legislators. We could compare them with Venezuela. We watched the video that has gone viral, and I couldn’t stop crying because I felt so empathetic to imagine that it could be El Salvador whose going though all this pain. It is incredible how the government has abusado of his power by using force. Isn’t he aware of what a useless country he is leaving behind? That’s stupid, really. It hurts me so much in the heart that there exists horrible people behind power, controlling the citizens who have come from God with special gifts to accomplish whatever they set their minds to, without the guidance of another who thinks he holds the cure to poverty. Besides, these are human beings he is treating they are not rats in a laboratory who you test your ideas to, each individual have their dreams, vision, mission in life. Who are you to destroy them? How can you sleep calm at night with all this false believes that you are doing good to people? Each individual should pursue their life as they wish, we come natural without any governance, no one should impose and limit the creativity of what makes us human beings humans. It also mesmerizes me the impact that nationalism has in the individuals, by seeing the students sacrificing their lives for their country. Really. What is that? I know things are hard, and you need to give an statement, but after all is your own happiness which you are pursuing and the dreams behind them, and if you get killed you will no longer be able to pursue them. Governments once again makes a restatement that is completely intolerable, ungovernmental, and useless for the economic well being of a society. We are capable of accomplishing our means to the ends we want to attain.
I really pray for Venezuelans, to accomplish human freedom. We all come with it, therefore must pursue it.

Today is a very chilly day. It started to rain. Weird I know, but I kinda enjoy this climate, when I am in my bed, pjs, and a hot cocoa. But I was here in the MPC. First pablito entabled communication with a student in Venezuela pro libertarian ideas. He started by explaining us what is happening this days, and that today there was going to be a march from the opposition and the other side in order to order the release of students that were imprisioned for expressing their opinions by Maduro’s order. Most definitely he said that students would come unarmed, and the opossition was going to be armed, and there could be thousands of killings. After some minutes talking with him the connection was lost and ww were not able to talk to him again. It scared me. After some hours of the day we were informed that Leopoldo Lopez, the man who organized or encouraged students to march in Venezuela’s streets gave himself to Maduro’s dictatorship. Sad but very courage’s human being.
Today we had our first French class. We each decided to choose a language to practice it, because I have basic French I decided to take it again to re enforce it. So Ingrid is facilitating that class.
Afterwards we have statistics, which we needed to make a research to see which requierements of math did MBA’s were asking. So Isa, Chacho Lore and I went to Acton MBA, and they gave us some information.
Sabino came half an hour earlier today and we were able to start on time. It was very interesting listening to speak about knowledge and many topics that were discussed in his book. Afterwards, he asked us about our projects who he gave us advices to do the research paper.
Later we went to CHAMBA co-working in zona 4. I loved it there. As soon as I entered I smelled inspiration all around. There were few young entrepreneurs, a fresh and dynamic environment. And there was our teacher waiting for us. Valeria, gave us the class in Business Model Generation, they gave us the paper and we soon started to post post-its. I came with new ideas for my project, and I also listened to great feedback. Valeria even recommended me a book, named the influencer. I will definitely will check it out.
I came back very happy and satisfied with my project. I really see it a future, and helping other people achieve their goals, just by creating the platform were they can realize the power it is all in them to achieve their dreams and generate money, it is all about getting creative.

Where does time go? To memories? To legacies? To facts? To your mind?
It is completely amazing the day I had today.
It all started when Marce found her perfect outfit for today. Black tights, blue jeans short, and white shirt, her gray sweater and her boots that have walk thousand memories with her. As she was getting out of the car she had her earphones on and was listening one beautiful song, that made her thought that all she can imagine could be real. Smelling the fresh cut grass at UFM, crossing by with different individuals who pursue their own dreams amazed her even more. As she was climbing up the heel she could feel the vibe of a very intense day, yet her look was very determined. Anything could happen today. Because she was going to make IT happen.
So she enters to the MPC and saw Isa and Majo dressed as how she would’ve dressed today, if she wouldn’t have thought about the cold. Incredible that even on those things her classmates also thought the same. Is it possible that all the ideas they’ve been discussing have influenced the fashion? My hypothesis is still a hypothesis, there needs a scientific comprobation.
Well, the fluency of people on the terrace called her attention, so she went to it. There was Polanyi Café day, she knew this day couldn’t have had a better start. Anxious she sat in a table that had the Polanyi café name in front, shared a table with Diego, Mafer and Kevin. They opened the envelope in front of them, to answer the question not other than the one she had chosen for her Christmas mpc gift and that is: What is my legacy? Before even arranging the order of the question she intuitively said out loud the question. She confirmed it moments later. Finally it was her time to articulate her thoughts. First she started by saying that legacy didn’t meant only leaving something physical in the world, but the impact you create upon other people who you cross with in your entire journey of life. To make the story short. Diego acknoweledge her that because of her he had learned the importance of assuming a responsibility that everything you do, say, act should be to create value to the world, not destroy. If her eyes could speak, they would’ve said “YES! Somebody believes my ideas to be not so crazy” the answer to the question was finally thought and articulated in the way: that everything I want to do is live my life in accordance with my integrity and my own values, finding a way in which human beings can share the one thing that makes us the same, regarding race, religion, work, income etc. now the big questions remains open. What is that thing that makes us unique? Is it our liberty, our liberty that we are able to choose what we want in our own lives, without the guidance of a legislator? Capitalism has shown that this is possible, free market is run by individuals pursuing their own interest, benefiting societies. From Kevin she learned, the beautifulness in Japanesse Cherry Blossom trees, and the word sincerity comes from the Romans sculptures that meant “sinccera” without wax, the statues that were made in one complete try, not with repairs.
Later in the day they had a meeting with Martin Krausse, and argentinian sir that came to inspire marcela and her group of classmates, in order to achieve the spreading of the libertarian principles along the world. He had great advices, first creating 10 lists of how they as “politicians” would do things differently that would move masses. So marcela now has a job, and it all depends on the effort she puts in it and the seriousness she gives to this chore. Once again, anything’s that you imagine can be real. And marcela had already visualize herself having 300 or more people in her cabinet working in improving the ethics in the country, by defending the individual liberty.
Afterwards, Marcela joined the first years along with Lorena, to a class of the 7 habits of highly effective people which started on Monday. The habit they were discussing was habit #1 Proactivity. No more to say. This is too much serendipity.
Afterwards Gabriel Zanotti joined the group for a discussion in his article that was read yesterday by Marcela and left her astonished as she had a discussion with one of her maids, all because of the misunderstanding and own interpretation of her own vision of her world, to the other vision of the person. What she could get out of this class was that she falls in the ideology that she is panteista. She believes that every living being is God.
For the rest of the day, she spent around 2 hours discussing with Kata the letter that they are to present to Cayo tomorrow afternoon, in order to demand the space for students to express themselves freely and discuss, explore, question honestly the ideas of UFM. Andrew gave them feedback very constructive and they are off to a good start.
Later she tried for her first time the Pomodoro method. Amazed of the amount of work that can be accomplish in 25 minutes, she is convinced to download the app.
As when she though nothing else could improve. She received a phone call from her boyfriend telling her she had a job offer. And it is to implement a community of learners in a field of technicians in order to motivate themselves to work. No more explanations was said, but she felt scared yet happy in the same time. Scared in the sense, that is her first time handling that much responsibility and has a sense that she might screw it up, commit mistakes. She just realized she likes order, systems, oh oh. There is a control where things must go perfect, because that is what she knows to be comfortable, ok, but she is not leaving space for learning, innovation, creativity etc. she needs to be able to loose control more.

Dancing was today’s morning meeting. It was lead by Grace, but she was very open to listen to suggestions and incorporate them into the dance. At first Marcela was very resistant with the idea but because of the sole purpose that she haven’t finished reading second chapter of Lomasky and the dialogue was today.
After a while she learned the importance of writing in her style and being authentic with her thoughts. This learning’s came from the dialogue of Eric Graf. She was very inspired in starting her new literature review due to the change of great work project.
Then the mpc’ers got together with Edgar (Cobán) and Bert, to discuss about Persons, Rights and the Moral Community. There was a lot of tension because Grace was staying in the outer circle and Bert asked her to leave. Cobán asked Majo later on, to give a brief overview of the chapter and because she wasn’t able to articulate it Bert asked her to leave, the tension was rising, Macela’s face was dignified and upset. Afterwards, Diego was asked to give an overview and couldn’t give a very complete one and then Marcela asked if she could rely on her notes, and Bert said “Absolutely”, and then asked her if she would want to read hers. She accepted. It was one of those choices were Marcela before would have given someone else the chance to try it out (Pablito and Carmen had offered their explanations), but Marcela saw this as an opportunity to receive feedback and give example to others to demonstrate that she was able to have a good standard of preparation. She went along. Bert acknowledge her, and her questions. She felt proud.
Later on, they finally opened Mises Human Action book once again. They gave a quick look on the index, and were able to start reading first pages of chapter 14. She had forgotten how Mises wrote, so repetitive but yet so clear. He gives very detailed descriptions, and once you pop a question in your head he answers it in the following chapters.
Overall, today was great. She was also able to express her feelings in an honest way. Saw opportunities when before she would stay quiet. Marcela is improving little by little, acquiring all of her experiences to make her stronger. Listening carefully to what others have to say and especially voicing her honest thoughts, not regarding others opinions, assumptions, prejudices.
This is the song we are dancing for the choreography. As soon as I have a video of the dance I'll upload it.

Week 2
Monday
February 24th 2014
Today. The day of Marcela started earlier than she thought. She had the energy to arrive to the MPC and give her best effort. It was because she had read a great novel by Ayn Rand “We The Living”, which she dreamed of being part of the novel. Also because she just spent a weekend with her parents in Guate. Talking to them, connecting and sharing time together gave her the strength to continue to learn in the most authentic way as possible and to give her best in what she was doing.
So she arrived to the MPC at 6:45 a.m, there were already a couple of her classmates waiting to give 7a.m. One who amazed her to be very active was Diego, and indeed it was his morning meeting. Started with leaving the chairs and standing up to give the announcements. Later on he explain the activity which included making their own personal business canvas, they went for 10 minutes to write the values they each give to the customers, or others. Marcela wrote she gives honesty, an awe about life, spirit of joy, speaks the truth, had a kainzen philosophy, a constant learner, curious explorer, in search of her own happiness, encourage other to be great in what they do, and a good listener. After that Diego showed them a video which gave Marcela inspiration to live her life to the fullest. The morning meeting ended with a Nutella and banana sandwich.
At 11:30 Marcela, Lorena and both Javieres joined the first years for the class on Franklyn Covey, they had a very deep discussion into the principles Franklyn pruposses to follow, some where saying that they are subject to change, but others said they will always be good in creating a solid ground in which to build up your successes. They did two activities, one consisted in writing about 10 years ago, your feelings and what things you liked to do, and the other was writing 10 years ahead of yourself, and how you visualized yourself and how you would like to be feeling including the things that you have achieved.
When they came back from lunch, Carmen, Diego, Majo, Isa, Kata, Javier P, and Marcela had a dialogue in Economics in one lesson. They were talking about the most common fallacies told about, and comparing both good economists with bad economists. Good economist see long term consequences, and take into account all groups of society and bad economist see what is immediate and only focus on one group of society. They came up with an idea in recreating a scene of a broken window fallacy but with a broken tooth of Javi. The video turned out great for a production of 10 minutes.

Later on, Marcela had a dialogue with Kata about We The Living. Marcela was so glad to have this dialogue, because some details which she didn’t understand Kata helped her clear them up. They both seemed to enjoy and attack the book with a great sense of curiosity and awe. They talked about other things related to the text and the impressions which they both had. They finished dialoguing at 4:00 and started to read a little bit more of the following chapter. They laughed and wrote some more quotes in her notes.
Marcela feels enlightened and motivated to start looking for internships for this summer, after talking with Isaac Morehouse who gave them advices in how to look for internships and contacts to help their great works succeed.

February 25th 2014
Marcela noticed today something very important thing about herself. Both in the morning and almost at the end of the night.
First she notices she is very competitive and she loves winning, to the point that she doesn’t listen anyone except her intuition. This was showed by a game called “catch phrase”, the game consisted in a 2 groups passing along a disc of phrases that one had to say similar words related to the phrase that appeared to you. It was so hard to look for words and yet not say that specific one. Many words came to Marcela but she had trouble in explicitly saying them how she thought they would come out. Some of her friends said some advices but she didn’t even listened to them. She was so focused in just doing it her way. At least Marcela noticed this attitude and is more aware in her conversations when she tends to do it more often.
Marcela went to the gym today and tried out a class of Pilates combined with TRX. She enjoyed it so much, despite of the tiredness she had had during the day. That gave her inner energy and strength to continue her week with positive attitude.
She went back to UFM, and received the Heuristica class with Valeria Sanchez, who helped them to find research and empathy tactics. Marcela thought about developing an app were not only saving goals must meet, but as well as personal goals, that you’ve always wanted but you don’t have the tools or the motivation to keep doing them. She did her first interview to Isa, and this is were she noticed again something she often does. She tends to direct conversations on the path she wants to. She noticed it when Isa was describing an experience of her, and Marcela heard her inner chatter box saying that she wanted the answer to be different, and this is when she realized that she wasn’t listening to people’s needs and wants but she was looking for those people or comments that reaffirmed her statement and solution.

February 26. 2014
Ha! This girl is up to something. She has continually received many blessings and great opportunities to learn, and experiences that are shaping her as a strong women, to give example to others in the future.
Marcela and her group of pioneers had a great morning meeting. Carmen lead it, and brought in all mpc pioneers, who included, Mabe, Alejo and Gaby. The activity consisted in watching videos of the original moment morning meeting from alejo and Mabe’s incredible painting activity. Marcela noticed that she really misses the input of each of them in their conversations, and started wondering how influenced should she be now, by their inputs, would I be different? she thought. The possibilities of becoming a different person, once you encounter one person that enlightens you, your complete vision of the world changes for good. The next activity was sharing two learning of all our lives. Marcela started and said the following “I learned the importance of accepting that one does not know, rather than one know, when you don’t”, the other learning was that every environment, person, experience you encounter is a possibility to learn. And she ended as well by saying her last learning that is “never to lose one’s own inner child, we are actually children inside our grown up bodies”. She expressed how much she missed them around. It was obviously implicit, but she had to articulate it. She really did.
Along the day they watched a film called “Sophie’s Scholl”, a brave women that believed in the freedom of the individual to be able to their own opinion and their expression of it. While they were punished for believing their ideals, sophie stated that she her ideal was not going to die. And this woman made marcela’s light sparkle, in the way that one must have a project in one’s life a project that has an end, as she just read in Lomasky. This project gives the person a motivation to live, to learn each day and to disregard the things that don’t get her closer to her end.
Marcela is amazed by the power of ideas, that each individual holds as truth. One must be able to not be afraid of speaking their honest genuine opinion, and rather than imposing the thought upon others, it is more about listening others opinions, seeings the similarities and then go to the basic root of that. Because what Marcela’s end is, is to encounter the principle which all human beings live for, fight for, and is common in all races, religions, cultures. What is it that makes us human beings so unique as a species? How can we take that principle to our advantage and work together as individuals of the same team of humanity?

Thursday 27, 2014
Today it was a very productive day. Since the day Marcela woke up, she had a sense of joy inside her, she immediately started thinking about her project. The day was fresh, like February was welcoming March with a spring air. She decided to were a very nice outfit with leggings shorts and a white body her mother bought her. As she arrived 15 minutes earlier she had time to talk to everyone a little bit, drank her banana, orange and grapes smoothie and was ready to go at 7:00 am to dance with Grace and everybody.
They incorporated new dance moves, and the last time the first years didn’t participate so it was time for the first years to teach them the dance moves of the last time. So they did, and learned them very fast, she was amazed. At 7:45 the class ended. They went back to the room and read the mail that Bert had sent them, it was to inform them that he wouldn’t be able to come to the MPC today, so they should practice and edit their debate cases. There is something that Marcela is against this debate case, she has not done it at all. She spent this time, talking with a friend of hers that is pregnant and she had around 1 month without talking to her. So probably they spent 40 minutes talking on the phone.
They had the dialogue of Persons, Rights and the Moral Community chapter 2, talked about the projects. Marcela had a new spark of this lecture, the importance of the phrase every person that has a project, that defines them. She started thinking, and thought it was a very nice phrase.
She had her Design and Innovation class, which was great because it was about empathy interviews. Just in time, for tomorrow’s Marcela’s interviews with Alejo and Ana isa. Marcela thought it was a great idea after having tried out their first interview to students, to go to Majo’s Agora Café to show them how the dynamic of a free dialogue functioned, and how they could be part of it, because that’s the idea of having different members of faculties to communicate. They loved it. Marcela was glad to have made them open a little door for them, which leads you to great discoveries.
After a while the class ended so they left. Marcela and Gianpi stayed for a while more. Up to the questions that was the last one, and asked “How is the education in the MPC”. Marcela noticed how much she loved this abstract thing that had given her the ability to see the world with new eyes. To see every person, environment and experience as a learning experience. She said that this was an attitude of authentic learning that must be dispersed throughout the University and the World.
After that Majo and Marce ran to Acton MBA, to have the talk with Rodrigo Blanco, an entrepreneur that is going rocket speed to success. She learned the importance of failure, of trying things out a thousand times even though it doesn’t result how you want it. Also to have a great team work who you inspire, and have a more free mind towards the attitude of boos-workers.

Week 3
Monday March 3. 2014
Monday it was a great day for me. It all started with the Milgram Experiment. This experiment is about the problem human beings face when someone else is the authority and takes full responsibility of some action towards other person. This was a reflection over the Nazi regime and the responsibility given to others to take the life of other human beings under “the law”. Milgram tried to experiment that the Germans were not bad human beings; it was that they were put into a circumstance where their moral was being jeopardized in order to accomplish the commander in chief’s orders. The experiment consisted in a series of questions given by a professor to a student; if the student (Actor) didn’t guess the questions correctly he’ll receive an electric shock. The professor usually kept on intensifying the electric shock, after listening to the screams of the student. The professor took the role of someone with power because he was told that somebody else would pay for the consequences and it immediately took the burden off his shoulders, so he was able to continue with the experiment. This is the point were I am most shocked. The question that popped into my head was what things I am giving someone else the responsibility and I am not assuming the consequences of every action I do. It gave me a sense of metacognition in every time I am ordered to do something that is against my will. There is always a space in the time you’ve been told and your response to be able to answer with all of your integrity. To speak up if something doesn’t seem right to you. You’ll be amazed of how many people will follow you but they don’t have enough courage to speak their minds. This gave me a great example to act in this way, there are no longer fears of being seen weird, no one can determine your own destiny and what you have to do by obligation. There is always an option you can take and it must be the one that demonstrates who you really are and what values you stand for.
Another remark that happened today was the conversation with Kata, Majo, Carmen and Isa, discussing about Economics in One Lesson, all of a sudden they started talking about mythodology, bible, God, dogma, society, duties, parenting, and I felt in an environment were I could be truly myself and express the things that lately has been crossing my mind for example: that I always remembered Roberto Blum’s talk about that in the Latin version of the bible God says “Yo soy quien soy”, and in the Hebrew bible it is as “Yo sere quien sere”. This got me thinking since the most constant thing in the universe is change, how come God be one who doesn’t change or evolve? He is all. And if us human beings, and the entire universe are evolving, expanding. Since Newton I’ve been thinking also that we have inner gods, and because of this we should be acting in a godlike form. This is because, we are the one’s who take action, and can accomplish our commitments, we are the ones that have the responsibility of taking the world into our own hands, to an improvement of humanity as a whole and as one. If we rather expect that someone else superior to ourselves hold that responsibility we are doomed to a great failure, because the responsibility is taken off our shoulders. We need to take ownership of our lives and of our actions more consistent with our own values.
So ok, this way the day I finally talked to Bert about my Great Work idea. He even gave it a name “Dream Quest”, I like it is describes what is all about, but I am still struggling of having two separate names. We’ll see. Bert was very happy with the idea and helped me search for books for her Literature Review. So they talked about the different possibilities that this website would offer, and we came with self-motivation, interests, passions, goals, social networking, psychology, achievement, happiness, self help and organized. So I started the search for the books, and found very interesting topics about social networks.
Overall today it was a great day to reflect on my decisions, the values I integrate to them and how is my being reflected in all of my decisions, works and actions.

Tuesday March 4, 2014
Today Marce’s mind as soon as she heard her alarm immediately started evaluating the possibility of staying in bed for the rest of the morning. She had never remembered a time were she felt so comfortable. Her little voice inside said “I value staying in bed today”, “Yes, I will tell my classmates that I made a choice, and the choice was to stay in bed because I give it more value than waking up”. Ha. Something else wasn’t comfortable with the “decision” she was about to make. So she just stretched in her bed, pulled herself out of the bed and went directly to take a bath.
She along with 3 other classmates were the only ones in the MPC by 7a.m. Marce thought the importance of being the example to others, and that is never a good idea to stay in bed sleeping. They were handed costumes, and wigs to celebrate “Mardi Gras”, and they took pictures, videos, danced, and laughed a lot by looking at Kata especially pulling off her personality of librarian, it totally fit her.
Marce started her programming lessons in codecademy today. She switched instead of having French, she will be auto-didact for programming because it will help her achieve her great work with more clarity to what things can be accomplished.
Diego acknowledged Marce for her daily reflections that were very useful to him, plus he enjoyed them. She felt satisfied that her work is being valued by others and that inspired her to continue writing her honest opinions of her daily adventures and learning’s.
At last they had a dialogue with Sabino, which was very rich in knowledge. They learned the difference between variables, and the importance of taking into account different characteristics when analyzing a product or phenomena.
So today they had First Tuesday. It was Marce’s second time attending to one. At the end of the presentation she was amazed to this entrepreneur, his willingness to expand and his ambitions to take Guatemala’s food to a higher level of appreciation. Marcela saw the immense opportunity she had just by being there, so after fighting internal battles (such as fears), she went straight to Rodrigo Blanco, an entrepreneur that gave a conference on Thursday, so she started telling him her project and asked him for advice. And so it was the beginning of a great conversation, and of very valuable feedback. He recommends doing an MVP, before throwing oneself into the water with a project with that much amount of investment. They resulted adding in facebook, to know more about each other’s projects and starting to have a more extensive network. Later she went straight to Pancho, Francisco’s son (the conference guy), and asked him if he had heard about Queso Petacones, from El Salvador, that she was impressed that it is not still in Guatemala, even of the great supply there is in here. He told her of the regulations about bringing lactose through the country. Afterwards the conversation turned into a very interesting topics, were marce asked him more about his role in his company, and what were his motivation when he encountered problems, he later on offered her his help for her project. They also talked about the business of the frozen fruit, for the smoothies that Marce is trying to implement in UFM’s store by the cafeteria.
After all, it was a great day for Marce, it hasn’t been one second since she can’t take the project out of her mind. She is completely immersed in it, her whole self is projecting it to the universe, and that is why she has been finding opportunities in others to help her idea grow and start acting her ideas out.

Ok so toady overall, was a great day. Even though this time the mind beat Marce’s actions. She fell asleep and walk up at 6:18. She arrived 10 minutes after to the MPC, to encounter a tension environment discussing about the debate cases which were supposed to be due today. There were changes in schedule and they are going to be handed it on Monday. Carmen showed a ted talk of Lean In, which is a book Marce is trying to read for some months ago but haven’t made the time. The tension throughout the day started to evaporate. At 9:30 a.m they had their first visitor, Paco Capella, a spanish physicist, biologist, psychologists and economist. Marce thought what a great combination of fields, it seems the most important to her to be able to understand the world we live in, each in their own way. So she heard very closely to the dialogue and they talked about the different implications money has, the benefits and the cons. For later they had a virtual talk with Jose Fernando del Castillo a spanish man as well, knowledgably in the totalitarian economical theory and he talk as well of the implications of concepts and our understanding of the world.
Larry Reed was presented to us by Pablito, it was great talking to him, he was very delicate with his answers and the whole nature of the dialogue went out very nicely. The topics of the Great Depression were discussed, and the climb for the recovery of it was thanks to less government spending and more free market.
Kata Kevin and Marce had their We the Living dialogue, they enjoyed it so much, and they are really trying to dig for the information that’s behind every characters thoughts, for example Kira’s bravery behind her ideas and actions as well as her philosophy of what it means to live. They started talking as well as the culture of Iran, Kevin started to tell them about how it’s a totalitarian regime with theological philosophy. The amazing things they do are unthinkable now a days in the world we live in were women have more say than before, they still count women’s words as half of one man. There a lot of mugging, violence, and the laws are incredibly ridiculous, they are not allow to drink alcohol, or hold hands with friends, there is no way they could be seen in a café or restaurant, that is just allowed for families. So Ayn Rand, is usually talking about a phenomena that is happening still in our world today, and the search for one’s own happiness and one’s own pursuit is inherent in all human beings to follow. There will always be someone telling you what’s best for you, but no one but yourself is the one that takes every decision in your life.
The group also had a debrief, probably the first one in a great amount of time. So they each talked about their struggles lately and what solutions could there be to tackle the problems faced in this semester. So they came up with 5 watch out for this type of rubrics that they are going to work them intensely for a week, and then change them for another set of 5 rubrics, adopting it until a level that we reach a greater standard. This was much necessary for the improvement of the culture and the development of a fresh and organic environment where the students are aware of others needs and others interests so they can offer their help and build a collaborative working space.

Thursday March 6th, 2014
Today confidence was within me since I woke up 3 minutes before the alarm clock ringed. I said a little prayer just to take as a learning as much as possible anything from today and let me have the strength to have compassion for others. So I arrived to the MPC 15 minutes earlier, to see the space clean since yesterday’s five new rules. It had a fresh feeling, as my other classmates started to arrived we saw the possibility of changing the desks into a two desks working space. So we left 3 pairs of 2 tables for 4 people on each space. That is a more co-working experience environment that allows for connections to emerge.
It is dance Thursday, so Grace inspired from yesterday’s debrief and the sense of trust we all have with each other, or would like to develop more she created a choreography that evolved into a very cheesy but yet meaningful experience for all. The song was I got you by Leona Lewis. It was a series of steps that involved our strength and the letting go of the other person, based on confidence we all got each other’s back. And it really was meaningful because each one of my classmates have become a brothers and sisters to me. I literally have seen them more than my family in the last three years, and I couldn’t have chosen best “brothers and sisters” to substitute them for now. They all inspire me, they are full of passion, happiness, great ideas, great spirit, and everyone is intelligent to a level that I still have lots to learn from each of them.
I learned that I must plan things beforehand and think about other people’s plans and not try to make things that were supposed to be done a week before the same day because many disgraces can occur. I was not able to interview Bert for a Design and Innovation class, and it hurt me because I wanted to give example to my group that I did my job, but I couldn’t accomplish it. Things didn’t went as bad as I thought but at least I learned this in an early stage in my life, and nothing else depended seriously on this.
I had my first meeting with Gianca today. I was immensely happy yet nervous. I started acknowledging him for his effort given for the success of the MPC, and basically told him my difference before and after MPC appeared in my life. Then I started telling him about my evolution of projects, since the shoes (he was very interested in that, and he recommended me a couple of ideas for research if I still wanted to do them), it re opened me the interest in that subject again. Later on I continued with my other project, he wasn’t able to understand it fully yet but he gave me great feedback to think a little bit more in what could be behind this platform. Gianca was amazed of the spark of my eyes, and congratulated me for it, and to keep the light from within. (this is interpreted by me but that is what I was feeling in that moment).
So another great learning experience happened today. It was a conversation between Luis (Design and Innovation professor, Gianpi and me). We started talking about intrinsic motivation (this triggered my alert vision and I started recording the conversation). After that Luis started to tell us about the education process he has gone through to awaken other students in acquiring this autonomy (which was discussed in our Lomasky dialogue, as the main recipe for human happiness) before I didn’t realize the importance of autonomy, which is the decision you choose rationally to act with one’s own opinions, and not influenced by external factors. This seems like a very complicated job, because sometimes we don’t even have found that inner voice of us, but I take a wild guess, that it all can come from practicing our own will. With Luis’s conversation we ended up talking about the importance of human beings and its relation with technology, that has helped us achieve great amount of facilities, to the point to be thinking to be able to live forever one’s mind attached to a computer after one’s own death (imagine Darwin’s brain, along with Einstein and Tesla’s mind having a conversation and giving solutions to ongoing conversations). Is just crazy, but there comes the idea that what is to be human beings, if fear is within us to try to change our conditions and try new things that makes us better as a species then why we are so afraid. What would be the function of the Church in trying to keep us acting in such a way that doesn’t work for our system anymore? What’s the sense of preservation of a race that is no longer efficient to the new world? I can see how many times fear is holding me back towards many risks I would like to be doing but because of someone else’s opinion about certain situations, I already adopted their point of view, rather than to follow my own will and become autonomous. Anyways it was a great day after all. I managed to finish everything I had planned to finish, and it is already 1am and I am leaving tomorrow to El Salvador at 6:00am so that means 4 hours of sleep Horray!
Oh and I almost forgot. The platform which I want to create, already exists. Fuck it. I must pay closer attention to what particular segment they are leaving unattended so I can focus on it.
