Crito
Today we discussed Crito. And were very specified with the concepts being said in the dialogue. Some of them which I wrote were: money, death, values, virtue, faith.
Concept: Leave what you believe previously, because that would be an impediment for learning. For the sake of being consistent
Here is when Socrates is in jail and is waiting to be executed and a friend called Crito comes and talks to him to see if he could persuade him to escape from prison.

For this dialogue we had some visitors that came from the states which founded a school in Uganda, which is a country in Africa that is landlocked, and the majority of the population is young meaning that in 15 years around 75% of the population would be unemployed. This stroked the attention of this 4 americans and tried to eradicated through education. Their purpose is to give them the skills to be entrepreneurs. We had a nice dialogue with them explaining what the MPC is all about. They asked us what is the value being exchanged in the ideas shared at the mpc? exchange of ideas, gain knowledge, create new ideas. Respect towards other humans, cultures, tools in learning how to learn. Our purpose is to become auto didacts.
We later on continue with the dialogue we had planned.

If you decide to live somewhere you are accepting the terms and conditions of the terms and conditions of that laws and if you disobey, consequences are going to apply to you. You become a clave that can't run from
Meno
We got to a very deep conversation with Meno, which I enjoyed a lot, I noticed that the previous dialogue we were struggling a lot to understand the text because we didn't quiet asked the questions which would have helped us understand it better. So we have that virtue is a gift from the gods which gives you the right opinion and it is shown in the results and it will be only right because it comes from the gods, and the public opinion is what others considered as knowledge. Many people base their knowledge to it and are more like shadows which impedes you to keep searching virtue.
I was amazed to this conclusion because it all makes sense. If you search for something specially knowledge and thrive to have the correct opinion the gods will give you the virtue in order for you to imparted to others and fight with shadows. The shadows are the claims to knowledge, or public opinion.
How do we acquire knowledge?
How do we know they have a correct opinion? By the correct guidance, results.
I just realized that if we search with all our hearts the truth, God will give it to us, because it is in him that truth is, and he is all one.
I enjoyed so much today's dialogue. We finished reading it but still have some questions, so we'll read it again for next wednesday and bring a layout about Socrates mind map about what is virtue.
-Has true opinions rather than knowledge. Correct opinion. He will not be a worse guide than the one who knows.
Opinion: "creo"
Correct opinion?
knowledge: always succeed. True opinions only succeed at times. Knowledge is the recollection.
Convertir tu opinion en knowledge. Virtue appears to be present in those of us who may posses it as a gift from the gods.
We have a way of thinking we should start off, we will become better people if we SEARCH, things we don't know.We can learn new things, reach things we don't know. We will be less idle, braver (iconic questioner)
less idle: passive (without movement)
what is virtue?
is it teachable or not? If it is of one kind (knowledge) it can be thought, beneficial- harm us
it can be both. It has to have wisdom to make it knowledge with disciplined and understanding harmful directed by foolishness.
Slander is not against you, it is the image or conception of you
false concept of you
assumption public opinion
How are we learning virtue? It can be learned and or thought? The learning process is a recollection/ discovery.
virtue: willingness to learn.
Not natural to us because we would distinguish from good and bad but soul knows and it is just a recollection.
Sorates looks for the whole concept- meaning. instead of the parts, or qualities - color, shape, virtue like Meno.
Socrates gives him advices on how to approach meanings but it seems Meno doesn't follow. (modeling how to dialogue)
suspend assumptions
shared meaning
precise definitions
attending assumptions (awareness)
How you seek something you don't know, and don't know what you are looking for. Searching to learn. All learning is a surprise.
Role of a teacher to help you remember. Recollection of thoughts as humans when the soul knows everything (estar más en contacto con mi persona, alma)
feeling of recogntion as truth.
soul: eternal- no beginning no end
virtue of being- knows the truth, truth is.
remember accurately
forgotten knowledge that's why we learn
Si el humano es corrompible y muere no es eterno. Por que no nos enfocamos en alimentarnos nuestra alma que es eterna y lo sabe todo. Para ser mejores seres humanos en la tierra.
recognize it when it happens as learning.
I didn't enjoyed today's dialogue as much as the previous one but it probably was the fact that we were in the bean bags and were very comfortable and fell a bit sleepy.
Anyways, I find Socrates methodology very effective for the person to realize what he really understand and knows, rather than what he thinks he knows.
